１．周辺環境について
京都市出雲路、鴨川近くの入り組んだ路地に面した住宅。路地を含む街は緩やかな境界により公私の領域を曖昧にしており、その体験を内部にも連続させたいと思った。そこで、巾 2.1m の細長いスペースから構成し、周辺の路地や街のすき間とつなげるように意図した。また、細長い室で完結させず、その外側も同時に感じられるようなふわりとした領域感をつくることでを重視している。
２．構成について
細長いスペースは高さ 6m の通し柱による列柱により規定される。柱間には行き来する部分や開口部、しきりとなる部分が設えられ、必要に応じ階段やはしご、棚が設置される。 ふわりと与えられた骨格が人やものの居場所を定着されるガイドとなりつつ、ゆっくりと場所をつくりあげていく。
３．シーンについて
また、強い骨格が、暮らしの中で豊かなシークエンスを生み出すように意図した。立ち並ぶ柱をくぐるごとに新たなシーンが展開する。路地を歩きながら街の営みを発見し、季節の移ろいを実感するように、常に新鮮な気持ちを引き起こさせる建築でありたい。ある場所に固有の構成を与えることで、その街の過去と強く接続し、未来の営みに対して柔軟に変容していける建築が生まれると考えている。
This house is located in Izumoji, Kyoto near Kamogawa river. The surrounding area covered by narrow alleys makes our lives familiar with the community. To participate in the circumstance and to connect the street, we make the house consisted of 2.1m width space.
The narrow space is ordered by continuous wooden columns of 6m height. Between them, we put an opening, partition, furniture and stairs. The structure indicates suitable position of dwellers and commodity, and gradually makes a comfortable space.
Also, we make stress on a variety of sequences made by the structure. The repeated columns, like a translucent screen, make new scenes in the house, as we enjoy seasonal changes in the alleys. We always try to make a unique composition specialized to the site, to link the historical context and future life.
